Jamaica Tea Lemonade with Lavender
Jamaica, (or hibiscus flower) is one of my favorite flavors, so when I found a bag of dried hibiscus flowers in the store, I knew I had to buy them. And I knew I had to make a tea lemonade with lavender. The floral notes of the hibiscus and lavender pair perfectly with lemonade. Perfect for those hot summer nights.

Just a few simple ingredients bring this tea to life!

I got the lavender from a lavender farm close to my parents’ house. I love buying local whenever possible.
What’s In This Tea?
- Dried hibiscus flower-only use hibiscus meant for culinary use.
- Lavender-culinary lavender only.
- Lemons- three to four medium to large lemons.
- Sugar
- Water

Let’s Make This
- Add one cup of dried hibiscus flowers, 1 tbsp lavender, 3 cups water to a large measuring cup.
- Microwave for 4 minutes, steep for 20 minutes.
- While tea is steeping, juice the lemons.
- After 20 minutes, strain the tea from the hibiscus and lavender. Check out the photo below to see how I did this. The pitcher I used for this had a small opening. If you use a container with a large opening, you can strain the tea straight into the pitcher.
- Add tea, lemon juice and 1 cup sugar to a 1 gallon pitcher.
- Add water to to the 3 liter mark. Stir to incorporate the sugar.
- Do not add ice to the pitcher as it will water down the drink. I refrigerated until cold. You can also pour over ice as needed.

If you are straining into a bowl, use one with a pour spout to make it easier when you pour the tea into the pitcher.
Recipe Notes
If you are making this for an event, I would make it at least 2-3 hours in advance if possible. Do not add ice to the container, add to individual glasses. Refrigerate right after making.
For freshest results, store for up to three days in the refrigerator.
