Soft and Cakey One Bowl Brownies with Your Favorite Chips
This post was modified on:
These brownies are the perfect mix of chocolatey, cakey, ooey, gooey, goodness. Just the right balance of rich cocoa and melty chocolate chips, all mixed in one bowl with no mixer required. If you didn’t know what you were having for dessert tonight, now you do!

I can’t believe how good these brownies are! Before this recipe, I wasn’t a big brownie person. I thought they were either too chewy or too rich, but this version changed everything. Now, I am a true convert. These brownies are perfectly soft, slightly cakey brownies (not chewy!), and they’re amazingly easy to throw together with ingredients you probably already have.
Why I love these brownies
First off, they are made in one bowl. Doesn’t get any easier than that.
They are customizable. Add your favorite baking chips, nuts, dried fruit, coconut flakes, it’s up to you.
They’re forgiving. I actually forgot to add brown sugar to this recipe. You can easily add it in though, just use 1/2 cup granulated and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
Ingredients

Most of the ingredients in this recipe are pantry staples-things like butter, sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, baking powder, etc. The rest of the ingredients are what give the brownies their signature flavor.
Cocoa powder For the rich, chocolatey flavor.
Yogurt For added moistness
Baking chips White, chocolate, butterscotch-whatever you fancy really.
Optional toppings/add-ins Coconut flakes and crushed walnuts are delicious, but you can add whatever you have on hand.
Tips & Variations
Add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt before baking for a sweet-salty twist.
For extra fudgy brownies, bake for 25 minutes instead of 30.
Let’s make this!
This recipe is super simple. First, we’ll add the melted butter and flour to the bowl and whisk together. Next, we’ll add the eggs and sugar.

Add the yogurt, vanilla, and baking powder, and cocoa powder and whisk everything together. Fold in the baking chips.

Pour into a greased 9×9 pan. Top with crushed walnuts and coconut flakes. Bake in a 350°F oven for 3o minutes. A toothpick inserted in the middle should come out with a few moist crumbs.

See how delicious they look!

Serving Suggestions
